Our 11 Day Cambodia Panorama Tour enables clients to enjoy the sights of the capital Phnom Penh before exploring the countryside for an enlightenment on the lives of the locals as we visit other sites around the country. Our guided tour of the tour famous Temples of Angkor and some other magnificent recently discovered places is awesome considering the time they were constructed.

On this tour explore the capital of Phnom Penh, finally shaking off the Pol Pot era, and emerging to its rightful place as the “Pearl of Asia”. Enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong River before heading north-east to the remote area of Ratanakiri Province, a place of incredible natural beauty and home to a number of different minority groups and the diverse and wild Virachay National park. Enjoy spectacular scenery along the way to Kratie and a stop for some interaction with minority people on the way. Explore some 7th century temples on the way to Siem Reap and the mighty Temples Of Angkor and other sites around Siem Reap.

Itinerary in details

 

Day 1: Phnom Penh - Arrival


Phnompenh city

  • Met and welcomed by your guide upon arrival at the airport
  • Transfer to your hotel by private car
  • Visit the Royal Palace, resplendent in traditional Khmer architecture
  • See the Silver Pagoda and its magnificent Emerald Buddha
  • Visit the Museum of Genocidal Crime, which was the S-21 prison – the scene of the worst examples of brutality and torture under the infamous Pol Pot
  • Visit the camp Choeng Ek Killing Field, outside Phnom Penh, the last resting place of many Cambodian people, whose killings were committed by the brutal Khmer Rouge regime.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Phnom Penh, including breakfast.

 

 

Day 2: Phnom Penh – Oudong – Sampan on Mekong River

  • Our 50km road trip will reach Oudong, the ancient capital of the Khmer Kingdom between 1618 and 1866
  • Explore the remaining ruins of the temples and structures existing there
  • Enjoy a lunch of typical local specialties
  • Return by road to Phnom Penh
  • Take an leisurely afternoon stroll through some very interesting markets
  • Have a sampan ride on the Mekong River and watch the setting sun
  • Overnight at a hotel in Phnom Penh including breakfast.

 

 

Day 3: Phnom Penh - Kampong Cham - Stung Treng 


Kampong Cham

  • Travel by private car towards the city of Kompong Cham, past gorgeous rice fields growing in the rich, red fertile soil
  • Listen to the story of the local ‘hill men’ and ‘hill women’
  • Visit the shrines named Phnom Srei and enjoy the great views of the surrounds
  • Visit the shrine Phnom Pros and enjoy a drink and entertain by the inquisitive monkeys that appear in the trees above
  • Take a discovery tour through the town to explore its colonial architecture
  • Cross the Mekong River
  • Visit the Chup rubber plantation to see the process from latex to the finished articles.
  • Head to Strung Treng
  • Overnight at a hotel in Strung Treng including breakfast.

 

Day 4: Strung Treng - Ratanakiri - Ban Lung

  • Travel from Stung Treng to Banlung,
  • Journey east to Ratanakiri Province, a remote region of densely forested mountains
  • Cross the Mekong River and the Sre Pok River
  • Go sightseeing around Banlung
  • Visits to Teuk Cha Ong waterfall, Yeak Laom lake, a zircon mine and a pepper plantation
  • Explore the isolated ethnic minority villages and a zircon mine and Yeak Laom, a volcanic lake
  • Take a 3 hour elephant ride to a scenic waterfall and back through the Cambodian bush
  • Overnight in Terres Rouges lodge in Banlung

 

Day 5: Ratanakiri - Kratie

  • Depart for Kratie, a French small colonial style city.
  • Meet the ethnic Pnong people who live in the forests and dense vegetation of this mountainous area
  • Upon arrival in Kratie, cross the Mekong River to reach Sala Koh Trong lodge for overnight.
  • Overnight in Sala Koh Trong lodge including breakfast.

 

 

 

Day 6: Kratie

  • Discover this lively riverside town
  • Set on the banks of the Mekong River, close to the border with Vietnam
  • Visit the Vihear Kork pagoda, and Wat Phnom Sambok and admire the Buddhist monastery
  • Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant
  • Continue on to Prek Kampi on the Mekong River
  • Cross the Mekong in a small boat
  • See the rare and protected Irrawaddy dolphins, the only freshwater dolphins
  • Overnight at a hotel in Kratie including breakfast.

 

 

Day 7: Kratie - Kampong Thom

  • Leave Kratie for Kampong Thom via Chhlong
  • Visit Wat Nokor, a colourful pre-Angkorian Buddhist temple, then the nearby village and monastery
  • Visit an 11th century temple in the village of Phum Prasat
  • Discover an impressive pre-Angkorian tower inside the enclosure
  • Cross many varied landscapes including rice fields, forests of rubber trees, and sugar palms
  • Overnight in Sambor village in Kompong Thom including breakfast.

 

 

Day 8: Kampong Thom - Siem Reap

  • Depart to Siem Reap
  • Stop at traditional villages in this area specialising in the production of palm sugar and rice cultivation
  • Visit the ancient Angkorian structure of ‘Naga Bridge’
  • Discover the Rolous group of temples, the earliest large, permanent temples built by the Khmers, and mark the dawn of Khmer classical art
  • Visit the three main temples dedicated to Shiva, Preah Ko, Temple Lolei and Temple Bakong
  • Attend a dinner and watch an Apsara Dance Show.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap, including breakfast.

 

 

Day 9: Siem Reap - Angkor Thom - Angkor Wat

  • Depart for an elephant farm early in the morning
  • Take an elephant ride up the hill of Phnom Bakheng to see the sunrise
  • Explore the walled city of Angkor Thom, 10sq kms in size
  • Visit the South Gate, Bayon
  • See the fascinating Buddhist monastery of Ta Phrom, invaded by the jungle over many years
  • Visit the Baphuon with its splendid sculptures
  • Pass through the Terrace of the Elephants
  • See the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers
  • The Royal Enclosure and its small temple, Phimeanakas
  • Discover and explore Angkor Wat, built in the first half of the twelfth century, and dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu
  • Witness the sunset, from the top of the hill of Phnom Bakheng
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap, including breakfast.

Day 10: Siem Reap - Bang Meala - Koh Ker

  • Enjoy an 80km journey northeast of Siem Reap passing through the beautiful landscapes of the Cambodian countryside
  • Visit the magnificent site of Koh Ker, built in the 10th century
  • Explore the beautiful temple of Beng Mealea, built in the 12th century
  • Visit the temple Kbal Spean, known as ‘The River of a Thousand Lingas’
  • Witness a sunset on the mountain temple of Pre Rup, a former mortuary temple, dedicated to Shiva
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap including breakfast.

 

 

Day 11: Siem Reap - Tonle Sap - Departure


Tonle Sap

  • Drive to the fishing village of Kampung Phluk, on the banks of the Tonle Sap Lake
  • Take a cruise on a local boat to explore some of the nearby floating villages
  • See the huts of bamboo and straw, built on stilts to avoid flooding
  • Practice some of the traditional fishing techniques employed by the locals
  • Transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
