Our 12 day tour has been designed to give travelers a more in depth look at Cambodia, her people, historical sites and countryside.


We wend our way through beautiful scenery, and several Kampongs on our journey to Siem Reap, to see the incredible Temples of Angkor. Discover other ancient temples and wonderful sites in the immediate surrounds of Siem Reap before embarking on a boat cruise to Battambang. Visit some important historical sites in and around the town before departing for Phnom Penh, stopping on our journey to visit several townships. Discover Phnom Penh, known as the “Pearl of Asia”, with a thorough guided tour of the capital city. After transferring to the airport for the departure flight our services end.

Itinerary in detail

Day 1: Phnom Penh - Arrival


Phnompenh

  • Met and welcomed by your guide upon arrival at the airport
  • Transfer to the hotel by private car
  • Free time at your leisure for personal discoveries
  • Overnight at a hotel in Phnom Penh including breakfast.

 

 

 

Day 2: Phnom Penh - Kompong Cham


Kampong Cham

  • Travel by private car towards the city of Kompong Cham, past gorgeous rice fields growing in the rich, red fertile soil
  • Hear the story of the local ‘hill men’ and ‘hill women’
  • Visit the shrines named Phnom Srei and enjoy the great views of the surrounds
  • Explore the shrine Phnom Pros, enjoy a drink and be entertained by the inquisitive monkeys that appear in the trees above
  • Take a discovery tour through the town to explore its colonial architecture
  • Overnight at a hotel in Kompong Cham including breakfast.

 

 

Day 3: Kompong Cham - Kompong Thom


Kampong Thom

  • Discover Wat Nakor, a pre-Angkorian Buddhist pagoda, and then see the nearby village and monastery
  • Explore an 11th century temple in the village of Phum Prasat
  • Cross varied landscapes during our morning tour including rice fields, forests of rubber trees, and sugar palms
  • Explore the temples of Sambor Prei Kuk, some of the oldest structures in the country
  • Overnight at a hotel in Kompong Thom, including breakfast.

 

 

 

Day 4: Kompong Thom - Siem Reap 


Angkor

  • Depart to Siem Reap
  • Stop at traditional villages in this area specialising in the production of palm sugar and rice cultivation
  • Visit the ancient Angkorian structure of ‘Naga Bridge’
  • Discover the Rolous group of temples, the earliest large, permanent temples built by the Khmers, and mark the dawn of Khmer classical art
  • Visit the three main temples dedicated to Shiva, Preah Ko, Temple Lolei and Temple Bakong
  • Attend a dinner and watch an Apsara Dance Show.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap, including breakfast.

 

 

Day 5: Siem Reap - Elephant ride - Angkor Thom - Angkor Wat

  • Depart for an elephant farm early in the morning
  • Take an elephant ride up the hill of Phnom Bakheng to see the sunrise
  • Explore the walled city of Angkor Thom, 10sq kms in size
  • Visit the South Gate, Bayon
  • See the fascinating Buddhist monastery of Ta Phrom, invaded by the jungle over many years
  • Visit the Baphuon with its splendid sculptures
  • Pass through the Terrace of the Elephants
  • See the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers
  • The Royal Enclosure and its small temple, Phimeanakas
  • Discover and explore Angkor Wat, built in the first half of the twelfth century, and dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu
  • Witness the sunset, from the top of the hill of Phnom Bakheng
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap, including breakfast.

 

Day 6: Siem Reap – Preah Khan – Neak Pean – Ta Som – Thommanon – Chau Say Tevoda – Ta Keo -Banteay Kdei – Ta Phrom

  • First visit three temples that were built by King Jayavarman VII: the monastery of Preah Khan, the small Temple of Neak Pean, and the Ta Som Temple
  • Then visit Thommanon temple, a Hindu Temple dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu
  • See Chau Say Tevoda, the twin Temple of Thommanon
  • Explore the unfinished sandstone temple of Ta Keo, and the sacred pond Sra Srang
  • Visit Banteay Kdei an imposing monastery, built in the late twelfth century
  • Visit the fascinating Buddhist monastery of Ta Phrom, invaded by the jungle over the years
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap including breakfast.

 

Day 7: Siem Reap – Kbal Spean – Phnom Kulen - Banteay Srei – Banteay Samre

  • Travel across the sacred Kulen mountain range to the Kbal Spean area
  • Stroll through the forest to visit Kbal Spean, known as ‘The River of a Thousand Lingas’
  • Visit Phnom Kulen, considered by Khmers to be on the most sacred mountain in Cambodia
  • See the temple Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple dating back to the 10th century
  • Visit the temple Banteay Samre, a Hindu temple dedicated in the 12th century to Vishnu Shiva
  • Overnight at a hotel in Siem Reap including breakfast.

 

 

Day 8: Siem Reap - Tonle Sap - Battambang


Tonle Sap

  • Depart for the Tonle Sap Lake - one of the largest reserves of fresh water fish in the world
  • Explore the fishing villages and Chong Kneas
  • Board a traditional boat for the cruise to Battambang
  • Cross the Tonle Sap River to reach Sangker
  • Discover Prek Toal Biosphere, which houses a reserve for migratory birds
  • See the many houses on stilts and floating villages
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch on board the boat
  • Enjoy free time, at your leisure, upon arrival in Battambang
  • Overnight at a hotel in Battambang including breakfast.

 

Day 9: Battambang

  • Discover Battambang, a small colorful town, with charming Khmer characteristics
  • Discover a traditional and authentic lifestyle with its markets and craft villages
  • Climb the hill in Phnom Banan to discover sanctuaries built in the 11th and 12th century
  • Return to Battambang
  • Visit the Provincial Museum
  • Take a pleasant stroll downtown, to see the colonial architecture, Chinese compartments and colorful temples
  • Visit the Pagoda Wat Slaket, residence of the Buddhist Patriarch, and an opportunity to meet the monks
  • Visit the temple of Wat Ek Phnom
  • Visit the prahoc market
  • Overnight at a hotel in Battambang including breakfast

 

Day 10: Battambang - Phnom Penh

  • Travel across the fertile plains of rice cultivation to Kompong Chhnang town
  • Observe its beautiful colonial charm
  • Make a brief stop in Pursat, famous for its marble sculptures on the way
  • Take a boat in the floating village of Kompong Luong
  • Visit the villages of potters around Kompong Chhnang area, known as "the Port of Pottery"
  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant
  • Visit Royal Oudong (early seventeenth century) and the hill of the three stupas
  • Arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon
  • Overnight at hotel in Phnom Penh, including breakfast.

 

Day 11: Phnom Penh - City tour


Phnom Penh

  • Visit the National Museum of Fine Arts, a collection of sculptures exhibiting pre-Angkorian and Angkorian
  • Visit the Royal Palace, resplendent in traditional Khmer architecture
  • See the Silver Pagoda and its magnificent Emerald Buddha
  • Explore Wat Phnom, the oldest of the city, and see the statue of Madam Penh
  • Visit the Museum of Genocidal Crime, which was the S-21 prison – the scene of the worst examples of brutality and torture under the infamous Pol Pot
  • Visit the camp Choeng Ek Killing Field, outside Phnom Penh, the last resting place of many Cambodian people, whose killings were committed by the brutal Khmer Rouge regime
  • Take a stroll through the Central Market, famous for its Art Deco architecture
  • Overnight at a hotel in Phnom Penh, including breakfast.

 

Day 12: Phnom Penh - Departure


  • Free time until transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
