ITINERARY IN DETAIL

 

Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival

  • Met and welcomed by the Hanoi Voyages Guide upon arrival at the airport.
  • Then transfer by private car to your hotel
  • You refresh and relax a little after your flight, then we will furnish you with various items needed to begin your adventure
  • Overnight in Hanoi.

 

 

Day 2: Hanoi – Highlights and food adventure

This city tour gives a glimpse and an introduction to the history and highlights of the nation’s capital. In the morning:

 

  • Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum to see the embalmed body of the nation’s hero, affectingly known by the people as ‘Uncle Ho’, and view his former residence, built on stilts and preserved just as Ho left it and then visit One pillar pagoda.
  • Visit the Temple of Literature, a fine example of traditional Vietnamese architecture founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, and dedicated to Confucius to honor literary scholars. Vietnam’s first university was also established here in 1076.
  • Visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple and listen to the historical legend of the lake.
  • Visit the museum of your choice, either the National Fine Arts Museum, the Ethnology Museum or the Army Museum.

Day 3: Hanoi - Halong - CRUISE and NIGHT on board

  • Halong Bay, with its 1969 islands, is set in beautiful turquoise waters and was recognized for its natural beauty by UNESCO in 1994, and classified as a World Heritage Site. Ha Long means “descending dragon” and according to legend, a dragon was lowered into the bay to harness the ocean currents. His violent tail movements disturbed and spread the mountain, and when he plunged into the sea the water level rose up, leaving only the highest peaks above the water.
  • Cruising in this spectacular seascape is mystical and magnificent! A wonderful cruise on Halong Bay can be achieved with differing durations of programs.

  • Fall in love with the magic of this place…and you have the privilege of being on a junk which sails away from the “beaten tracks” of mass tourism. Day 4: Halong - CRUISE - Hanoi

  • Under the morning sun, surrounded by enchanting and astonishing beauty, your breakfast will be served.
  • In row boat, you will journey through the heart of a fishing village, to discover the floating houses and the lifestyle of its population, who live constantly on the water.
  • You will meet the village chief who will help you imagine the daily lives of the inhabitants of Halong Bay.
  • You will also visit a floating school.
  • Lunch on board the junk will close this beautiful cruise. The whole crew will greet you and thank you for your patronage.
  • By early afternoon you will return to the port. After disembarking from the junk, our driver will welcome you back to dry land, and the return journey to Hanoi begins.

Jour 5 : Hanoi - Cooking class - FLY - Hoian


  • This morning, we begin our exhilarating experience – hands-on home cooking class – an authentic and personal way to dive into the fascinating side of Vietnam’s food and culture at a local house located on the Red River bank where you could see the elegant and charming beauty of Eiffel Tower Bridge – symbol of the historical Hanoi.
  • Take a 30-minute lesson of some simple Vietnamese phrases. It will help you shop, use Vietnamese currency – dong and even bargain with friendly sellers.
  • Cycle to a local market (5 minutes). It’s a great chance to purchase things by yourself and experience a variety of foods from all the groceries. You will have fun time to communicate in little Vietnamese or even use body language with locals.
  • Come back for the cooking. You will cook by yourself under the guide’s instruction from the beginning to the end.
  • At lunch time you will enjoy products of your labor.
  • Transfer to airport for a flight to Danang.

  • Then transfer by private car to your hotel in Hoian.

Day 6: Hoian - Uncover ancient town and its street food

  • Take a delightful stroll around Hoian, an ancient trading port, situated in the central region of Vietnam, and see the century-old buildings that remain today. It's random alleys, charming old houses with their wooden balconies fascinating architectural features, and other influences left by visiting sailors in bygone days.
  • See the beautiful temples, pagodas, museums and the famous, covered Japanese Bridge.
  • Before finishing the tour, you will be guided to uncover a picturesque Hoi An on food tasting journey, scout out the locals’ favorite eateries, and learn about Vietnamese cuisine and family food shop scene!

Day 7: My Son - Boat trip - Kayaking - Home dinner

  • My Son is a World Heritage of Humanity recognized by UNESCO in 1999. This morning will be spent discovering Vietnam’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
  • Our morning begins with a visit to My Son, the capital and religious center of the Champa Kingdom, and Tra Kieu (the Lion Citadel) to view the Cham ruins and artifacts.
  • During this visit, you attend a wonderful ‘Khmer’ dance and see the dancers tell their story through dance performances.
  • After lunch, we will pick you up from ancient town.
  • You will then be taken to the pier to get on a special traditional wooden long-tail boat and start a lovely trip on the Thu Bon River down to Cam Thanh village.
  • You can choose to either paddle like local people or just sit down and enjoy the beauty of the river with small islets, farmers planting vegetables and fishermen in their attractive casting net.
  • After being lost for a while in the water coconut farm, you’ll arrive at Cam Thanh village and here you’ll have a chance to visit a family that makes a lot of bamboo things such as bamboo chairs, bamboo tables, bamboo lamps, bamboo telephones and even bamboo bicycles!
  • A warm dinner with a local family and lovely stories will bring you much emotion and great feelings that you’ll never forget.
  • A small bamboo gift before leaving will remind you of all the lovely things you’ve experienced on the trip.

Day 8: Hoian - Free time

Day 9: Hoian - Hue - City tour - Food on cyclo

  • Depart from Hoian to Hue via the Mandarin Road, crossing the Hai Van Pass whose elevation has led to it being known as “the pass in the clouds” and it commands spectacular views.
  • Continue your day with a visit to the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945.
  • Then visit the Mausoleum of Khai Dinh which was first used as a palace retreat before its final usage as the emperor’s resting place.
  • In the evening, we start our food tour on cyclo with a brief about Hue’s food, their origins, and anecdotes from the tour guide.
  • Each place we step in will offer an immersion into a facet of Hue’s culture.

Day 10: Hue - Thuy Bieu cooking class

  • After breakfast, transfer from your hotel to Toa Kham wharf for a cruise on Perfume River.
  • Stop at Dong Ba Market and buy necessary ingredients for cooking class with our chef.
  • Visit a Thien Mu pagoda – the symbol of Hue city.
  • Back to the boat for a scenic cruise to Thuy Bieu Village – famous for Green Tea fruit!
  • Upon arrival at Thuy Bieu village, go for a nice walking or biking around the village.
  • Visit the garden – house, ancestral temple and communicate with local people.
  • Visit an incense making family to discover the daily life of local people while they are working strenuously with joy and enthusiasm.
  • Come back to Thuy Bieu restaurant for cooking class, you will prepare lunch by yourself with our chief’s instruction.
  • Have lunch with Hue traditional dishes you have just cooked.
  • Relax by stepping your feet in medicinal herb water – a traditional therapeutic practice.
  • Enjoy an excellent massage by blind people.
  • Transfer back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 11: Hue - FLY - Saigon - City tour

In the morning, you will be transferred by private car to the airport for the flight to Hue.

  • Met and welcome by the Hanoi Voyages Guide upon arrival at the airport.
  • Transferred by private car to your hotel in Saigon to relax.

In the afternoon:

  • Visit the old Presidential Palace, where victory was declared after years of fighting and preserved as it was found, including vehicles in the garages.
  • Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Saigon Post Office, both magnificent displays of an architecture of bygone days.
  • Visit the FITO museum which houses a history of traditional Vietnamese medicine and treatments used by the people for generations or Visit the Beaux-Arts Museum and wander through the art galleries in the area.
  • Overnight in Saigon with breakfast and lunch included

 

Day 12: Cu Chi tunnel 


In the morning, we visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, part of an unbelievably complex system of tunnels built by the Vietnamese resistance fighters which help their efforts to repel the Americans during the war. Some tunnels were 2 or 3 stories deep, with hospitals, sleeping quarters and storerooms underground and have been enlarged to allow tourists to enter them.

 

 

Day 13: Saigon - Mekong delta

  • Leaving the bustling city behind us as we head for the rich, fertile lands of the mighty Mekong River and its extraordinarily busy inhabitants.
  • The area is crisscrossed by a series of narrow, winding waterways, has many cottage industries, orchards, productive rice fields and historical ancient buildings
  • On arrival we transfer from our road vehicle to a local sampan and begin our journey through the maze of narrow waterways and canals, making our way to Vinh Long to visit a rice milling factory, Tan Giai temple, and an ancient colonial house, before launching at this location.
  • Enjoy the view of paddle fields and the normal life of this region.
  • After lunch, we continue our voyage of discovery through Cha Va canal to visit a bonsai garden.
  • Then continue visiting the factory making Tau hu ky, a specialty of the local.
  • The journey ends in Can Tho, the largest town, and trade center in the Mekong Delta.
  • Overnight in Can Tho with breakfast and lunch included

 

Day 14: Mekong - Saigon

  • We board a local sampan and travel on the water for our visit to the colorful and vibrant Cai Rang floating market and Ba Cong fruit orchard and taste their fine wares.
  • Moving on we will go to the 100-year-old Binh Thuy Ancient House to admire the workmanship and architecture of yesteryear.
  • During our movements we will observe the thick, lush vegetation along the riverbank and life of the local people, going about their daily chores.
  • Then arrive back to Saigon by private car.
  • Overnight in Saigon with breakfast included

 

Day 15: HCM City - Departure
