Day 1Hanoi - Arrival - City tour

This city tour gives a glimpse and an introduction to the history and highlights of the nation’s capital.

In the afternoon,

  • Visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum to see the embalmed body of the nation’s hero, affectingly known by the people as ‘Uncle Ho’, and view his former residence, built on stilts and preserved just as Ho left it.
  • Visite one pillar pagoda
  • Visit the Temple of Literature, a fine example of traditional Vietnamese architecture founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, and dedicated to Confucius to honor literary scholars. Vietnam’s first university was also established here in 1076.
  • Continuing on, we will move to West Lake district to discover the Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of the oldest in Vietnam, and Quan Thanh Temple situated on the Truc Bach Lake shore, established by the Ly dynasty.

And then, we will wander around Old Quarters to discover its colonial architecture and immerse yourself in lifestyle of inhabitants living in this bustling city. During the walk, you will have chance to try some typical street food of Hanoi or sit on tiny chairs on the pavement to enjoy fresh beer “Bia hoi Hanoi”. An unforgettable experience!

Our tour will finish with after a water-puppet show, a traditional and ancient art form, unique to Vietnam, where the puppets appear on water, manipulated from behind a screen.

Day 2Hanoi - Mai Chau - PU LUONG

After having breakfast, depart in the morning to Mai Chau:

  • Continue your journey to Mai Chau and drive through beautiful valleys carved by rice terraced fields. Mai Chau is home to the ethnic White Thai group, distant relatives of tribes located in Thailand, China and Laos.

Then, soak in pictures for the memory while enjoying the fresh air in Pu Luong:

  • Walk around the small villages or take a cycle trip of 15 km to the Mai Hich Village, while passing rice fields and enjoy the fresh air in the mountain area. Meet the locals doing their daily work on the rice fields and learn more about their culture.
  • Meet your host for the lunch of our recommended homestay. Try fried pineapple or long time cooked meat that melts in your mouth.

Day 3Pu Luong - Trekking - NINH BINH

  • Go for a trekking tour surrounded by mountains and paddies while passing through small villages.
  • Walk through villages, rice terraces and forest to get to the Hieu Village. Take in the sounds from children playing and birds flying by.
  • Jump into the waterfall located in the Hieu Village and refresh from the hike. Bring your bathing suit and take a dip in the cold water.
  • Enjoy your lunch surrounded by locals before heading back to our retreatment place where you can relax and enjoy the view.

Then, we will leave Pu Luong and arrive a new beautiful place in Ninh Binh

Day 4Ninh Binh

Ride a bike through the countryside to Thai Vi temple. Situated in the middle of rice paddies and limestone peaks, in a calm and serene atmosphere, its original architecture follows the principles of Eastern geomancy. Continue on the bike towards Bich Dong Pagoda where, if timing allows, and you are brave enough, you may climb the stairs carved into the rock walls and access the pagoda. Your reward will be the amazing and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We continue for Mua Cave, visit the secret hospital that Vietnamese used in the days of thunder (Vietnam War). Inside the cave you can challenge yourself with 500 steps to the top of the mountain. Enjoy the fresh air at the “rooftop of Ninh Binh” with some breathtaking views.

In the afternoon, back to the resort and enjoy time on your own.

Day 5Ninh Binh - LAN HA Bay - CRUISE & NIGHT on board

Transfer to the Cat Ba Island and embark an overnight cruise to explore Lan Ha Bay – the less travelled yet astoundingly beautiful southern portion of Ha Long Bay. Explore the bay on a traditional Vietnamese junk boat through a maze of karst towers.

  • Adventure within the fantastically formed Vung Tra Bau and admire the fascinating formations of the bay through a maze of karst towers
  • Participate in kayaking, swimming or relax on the white sand beach of Hon Co Island
  • Relish the taste of skillfully prepared local seafood.
  • Settle into your cabin while the boat anchors for a night’s rest

Day 6LAN HA Bay - Cat Ba Island - CRUISE & NIGHT on board

Start the day with a session of Vovinam on the sundeck, followed by coffee, tea, and pastries.

  • Transfer to a speedboat to visit Viet Hai Village. Take a bicycle ride or electric car through a rainforest tunnel that leads to a rice-field vista. Visit a traditional house in a village deep in a national park where you can observe the lifestyle of the local people and enjoy lunch in the village. Return to the speedboat to visit Lan Ha Bay.
  • Visit the Cat Ba Archipelago, cruise through Cai Beo floating village and then go to the Ba Trai Dao beaches where you can explore the secret trail and beaches, enclosed by vertical cliffs (if the weather and tide permit) or just swimming and kayaking in Tra Bau area.
  • Return to Heritage Cruises to enjoy cocktails, beer, and fine wine as the sky changes color.
  • Enjoy life aboard the vessel and watch the sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. The chef will lead a Vietnamese cooking class

Day 7CRUISE - Hanoi - FLY - HUE

Wake up, inhale the fresh air and watch the sunrise horizon while admiring the breathtaking seascape.

  • Sail to the nearby fishing area by Chã – in a traditional small fishing boat. Watch how the fishermen catch the fish by classic costume netting. The ideal location for the perfect picture.
  • Continue the morning by transferring to the Dark & Bright cave and explore the lovely cave by bamboo boats.
  • Have a farewell brunch back at the cruise before heading back to the pier.

Return to Tuan Chau Marina and disembark for your onward journey. While waiting for the pick-up service to your next destination – Hanoi, enjoy the comfort of our lounge. Then, we will transfer to the airport and fly to Hue.

Day 8Hue - City tour

Best known as the old capital, Hue has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its ancient relics, historical monuments and fine examples of local culture. Many of these are surprisingly well preserved and intact and journeys to this historical city hold promise of great times and lasting memories.

As the nation’s capital from 1802 to 1945 there are many sites that reflect Hue’s rich history, and many others that allow relaxation while absorbing the area’s natural beauty. Spend a full day discovering Hue, Vietnam’s former capital built by the Nguyen Dynasty, Commence your day with a visit to the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945.

Then visit the Mausoleum of Tu Duc which was first used as a palace retreat before its final usage as the emperor’s resting place

  • Take a boat ride on the gentle Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda on the bank of the River.
  • Visit An Hien Garden House – the most typical and oldest garden house with traditional architecture in Hue
  • Visit Thanh Tien village specializing in making paper flowers that has gone on for about four hundred years.
  • We finish our day with a stroll through the Dong Ba market.

Day 9Hue – Marble mountain – HOI AN – City tour

Drive to Hoi An from Hue via the Mandarin Road, crossing the Hai Van Pass whose elevation has led to it being known as “the pass in the clouds” and it commands spectacular views. Come to Da Nang to visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture, which was created in 1919 and houses sculptures from archaeological sites from the region. The Cham inhabited much of the area between the 7th and 15th centuries, and many of sculptures are inspired by Hindu art, from whom the inhabitants of the time descended.

Discover the marble mountains, known as “the five mountain hills” each bearing the name of one of the components of our planet, Water, Iron, Earth, Wood, Fire. Beautiful marble is extracted from the mountains, in various colors and you can admire the sculptures and the artists at work. Marble Mountain is home to Buddhist and Taoist deities.

When you arrive in Hoi An, take a delightful stroll around Hoian, an ancient trading port, situated in the central region of Vietnam, and see the century old buildings that remain today. Its random alleys, charming old houses with their wooden balconies facinating architectural features, and other infuluences left by visiting sailors in bygone days. See the beautiful temples, pagodas, museums and the famous, covered Japanese Bridge.

Day 10Hoi An – Cycling – Tra Que – Coconut Village

You will cycle through the rice paddy fields, rivers and some small villages with the beautiful countryside landscape to Tra Que Organic Village. Here you’ll get a chance to visit the herbal farm and enjoy a special local drink made of the village herbs. The journey is pleasurable and what you experience is definitely rewarding.

Hoi An Coconut Village is a picturesque destination known for its vibrant coconut groves, scenic boat tours, and rich cultural experiences. Nestled in the heart of Hoi An, this village offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and traditional way of life.

Day 11Hoi An – FLY – HO CHI MINH – City tour

After breakfast, we will transfer to Ho Chi Minh. Our full day tour of Ho Chi Minh City begins in the morning with a

  • Trip to Cholon district to admire the active Thien Hau Temple, built in the early 19th century by its Cantonese congregation.
  • Then onto Binh Tay Market to witness the biggest market in Cholon in full swing, and check out the many goods, including fresh produce, on offer in this busy place.


  • Visit the War Remnants Museum, housing a history of the local perspective of the Vietnam War.
  • Visit the old Presidential Palace, where victory was declared after years of fighting, and preserved as it was found, including vehicles in the garages.
  • Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Saigon Post Office, both magnificent displays of architecture of bygone days.

Day 12Ho Chi Minh – Mekong – CRUISE & NIGHT on board

Enjoy breakfast and free time before transferring to cruise in Mekong. Board a sampan as soon as you arrive in Can Tho to go have lunch with a local family on an island; then paddle a bicycle for an hour before boarding back and following a small, green river towards a Khmer sanctuary, in an ambiance reminiscent of Buddhism’s ancient Indian origins.

Night at the Lighthouse or at Nam Bo, you are free to roam for dinner

Day 13CRUISE – Ho Chi Minh – FLY – SIEM RIEP

  • Breakfast cruise to the floating market Board on a sampan with breakfast towards the floating market: some of the last occasions to see an authentic floating market before they vanish. The excursion then takes you to a visit of the Cái Răng market on shore.
  • Free time for lunch
  • Shuttle transfer back to Ho Chi Minh,
  • After lunch, the shuttle takes you back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Then, transfer to the airport fly to Siem Reap

Day 14Siem Reap – Angkor thom – Angkor Wat

Visit to the fortified city of Angkor Thom, the apotheosis of the Angkorian era:

  • The South Gate, the Bayon, the Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King, the Royal Palace with the small temple of Phimeanakas
  • Visit Angkor Wat dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu
  • Sunset viewing from the top of Phnom Bakeng Hill
  • Dinner in front of Khmer show, with Apsara dances

Highlight experience: Exploring the ruins of Angkor Wat.

Day 15Siem Reap – Banteay Srei - Banteay Samre - 3 Buddhist Temples

A one hour drive from the Temples of Angkor is Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple dating back to the 10th century. Called “the citadel of women”, its stone has a marvellous pink hue, and is very well preserved.

Classic carvings, some three dimensional, adorn this temple including delicate women with lotus flowers in hand, their traditional skirts clearly visable. It is also decorated with beautiful, fine filigree relief work and graceful pattens depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. These are some of the finest examples of stone carvings found anywhere on earth. Visit Banteay Samre, a Hindu temple dedicated in the 12th century to Vihnou Shiva. This temple has been beautifully restored, and consists of a central temple with four wings, and the whole ensamble is enclosed by two large concentric walls. It has statues of Naga and lions on the pediments.

In the afternoon we will visit three Buddhist sites

  • The monastery of Preah Khan (“Sacred Sword”), one of the largest complexes at Angkor, with its maze of vaulted corridors and fine carvings.
  • The small temple of Neak Pean, a small temple built in the late 12th century.
  • Ta Som, east of Neak Pean, restored by the WMF, back to its former glory.

These three temples were built by King Jayavarman VII and illustrate the pre-eminence of Mahayana Buddhism during his reign. Then visit the old Eastern Baray Reservoir, now completly dried up, but its size of 7km by 2kms is impressive and once used for irrigation, we also visit the Eastern Mebon Temple built on a former island in the middle of the Baray Reservoir, to see the perfectlt carved stone figures of elephants, still in remarkedly good shape. The day ends with a sunset on the mountain temple of Pre Rup, a former mortuary temple dedicated to Shiva, whose colors are magical at sunset.

Day 16Siem Reap – Tonle Sap - Departure

After breakfast, we drive to the fishing village of Chaong Kneas, on the banks of the Tonle Sap Lake, board a boat and take a cruise to explore some of the floating villages on this massive expanse of water. We see the huts of bamboo and straw, built on stilts, to avoid flooding, and practice some of the traditional fishing techniques employed by the locals, on one of largest reserves of fresh water fish known to man.

Then, you will have free time to enjoy until transfer to the airport and come back home.
