ITINERARY

Day 1Bangkok - Arrival

  • A Hanoi Voyages representative will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your arranged accommodation where check-in time is 2:00 pm.

  • Let the excitement commence!

Day 2Bangkok - Highlights

Begin the journey by unravelling the glorious history of the Capital of Thailand with its highlights:

  • The Grand Royal Palace complex which includes the Royal Palace and the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew (known for the Statue of the Emerald Buddha)
  • Wat Pho, a giant house of the lying Buddha
  • A boat trip through the lively and bustling interior canals by traditional long tail boat
  • Wat Arun, a temple of the Aube
  • The Wat Traimit which is well known as the Golden Buddha.

Day 3Bangkok - Damnoen Saduak floating market - Kanchanaburi

Immerse yourself in the colourful atmosphere of the lively railway and floating markets:

  • Get up-close to the Maeklong Railway Market also known as “life-risking” market where exciting and magical scene happens, vendors disappear in a blink of an eye at each train whistle signaling the arrival of a train.
  • Learn the idea of a traditional market setting at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the best known floating market of Thailand which is featured in the James Bond movie and more recently “Bangkok dangerous” with Nicolas Cage. Watch the bustling activity on the crowded canals where boats loaded with, fresh exotic tropical fruits and Thai’s noodles, are packed up.
    Keep travelling to the southwest to reach Kanchanaburi and get ready to experience its significances:
  • Visit the World War II memorial including the Jeath War Museum, Cemetery.
  • Get on a train ride along the railway to enjoy the beautiful river view for around 30 minutes

Day 4Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya

Take a journey to Ayutthaya, roam the remaining temple and palace of this ancient Thai capital:

  • Wat Phu Khao Thong, the “Monastery of the Golden Mount”
  • The Ancient Palace and Wat Phra Si Sanphet
  • Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit, one of the largest bronze Buddha in Thailand
  • Wat Lokaya Sutha enshrines a large reclining Buddha image.

Highlight experience: Explore the charm of several religious sites

Day 5Ayutthaya - Pa In - Bangkok - FLY - Chiang Rai

  • Head to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace: built during the Ayutthaya era. Appreciate it’s beauty and fascinating architectural features, blending European, Khmer, Thai and Chinese style (eclectic collection)
  • Settle into an evening flight from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. Arrive and be welcomed by our guide and be transferred to your arranged accommodation.

Day 6Chiang Rai - Highlights and Mae Kok cruise

Chiang Rai, a delightful city with its relaxed atmosphere and stunning local food:

  • Discover the local products in the local market
  • World famous Wat Phra Kaew where the Emerald Buddha image was once enshrined
  • Wat Phra Singh where one of Thailand’s most beautiful Buddha images is now enshrined
  • Baan Dam (Blackhouse), the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee: part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some outlandish modern designs
  • Cruise on Mae Kok river from Chiang Rai to Karen village

Day 7Chiang Rai - Golden Triangle - Chiang Mai

Take a drive to the “land of brightly coloured poppy fields” – the infamous Golden Triangle:

  • Stroll through Chiang Saen, the ancient city located on the Khong River Bank
  • Visit the Opium museum where you will learn about the Thai opium’s history from a guide and with an exposition.
  • Cruise along the Mekong river to witness the lively assembling of 3 countries at the Golden Triangle

Day 8Chiang Mai - Highlights and Doi Suthep

Chiang Mai, is a place where the past and the present are merging seamlessly through modern buildings standing side by side with venerable temples, all built next to a densely rainforested countryside interspersed with waterfalls

  • Visit the most beautiful temples: Wat Phra Singh, Wat Phan Tao, Wat Chedi Luang
  • Stroll along narrow streets lined with traditional houses,
  • Walk through the central market of Warorot
  • Climb up the Doi Suthep hill where is located one of the most sacred temple in northern Thailand – the Wat Phra Tha Doi Suthep

Day 9 Chiang Mai - Doi Inthanon

Hike up Thailand’s highest peak – the Doi Inthanon National Park:

  • Trek through the jungle following a narrow mountain trail leading to a stunning hidden waterfall in the middle of the lush jungle
  • Pass through a coffee plantation, flower farms and rice terraces
  • Meet Keren people in Pagagayaw village
  • Visit the architecture of Napamaytanido Chedi and Phra Mahatat Npaphon Bhumisiri which was built to honour the 60th birthday of King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit

THE CULTURAL SIEM REAP – ANGKOR WAT 3 days/2 nights

Be enchanted by the awesome Temples of Angkor and the history of Khmer Kings discovered at the magnificent UNESCO Heritage site.

Day 1 – SAIGON – FLY – SIEM REAP   Settle into a flight from Saigon to Siem Reap. Arrive and be welcomed by our guide and be transferred to your arranged accommodation. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 2 – SIEM REAP – ANGKOR THOM – TA PHROM – ANGKOR WAT   Arriving in Angkor Wat, you will rove among the ruins of the world’s most famous Hindu temple complexes, built for gods, and fit for kings: Baphuon (a temple in honour of another Hindu deity, Shiva) with its spectacular layered structure, the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers; the Royal Enclosure and its small and particularly significant temple, Phimeanakas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 3 – SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI – BANTEAY SAMRE Advance to an off-the-beaten-track site, an hour away from Angkor Wat, encountering stunning Cambodian countryside and uncovering more temples: visit Banteay Srei, called the citadel of women and come face to face with the meticulously restored enclosed temple of Banteay Samre, complete with carvings of lions and nagas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 4 – SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP – Departure Travel to Tonle Sap and find yourself surrounded by a completely aquatic landscape, see how everyday life is transformed by its proximity to and dependence on water. Free time until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight
