ITINERARY

Day 1Chiang Mai - Arrival

  • A Hanoi Voyages representative will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your arranged accommodation where check-in time is 2:00 pm.

Day 2Chiang mai - Highlights

Savour the fresh air and greenery of Chiang Mai, is a place where past and the present seamlessly merge with modern buildings standing side by side with venerable temples and just one stone’s throw away from downtown leads to a densely rainforested countryside interspersed with waterfalls.
Venture into the old town of Chiang Mai with stunning ancient architecture:

  • Visit most beautiful temples: Wat Phra Singh, Wat Phan Tao, Wat Chedi Luang
  • Stroll along narrow streets lined with traditional houses,
  • Walk through the central market of Warorot

To wrap up the day, climb up the Doi Suthep hill to visit the most sacred temple in northern Thailand – the Wat Phra Tha Doi Suthep.

Day 3Chiang Mai - Mae Wang National Park - Ob Luang National Park

  • Depart for Mae Wang National Park in Doi Lor a small quiet town approximately 1.5 hrs for visiting Pha Chor and Kew Sua Ten, Thailand Grand Canyon.
  • Rock sculptures at Pha Chor and Khew Sua Ten are a natural phenomenon of eroded soil pillars. It is believed that this used to be the Ping River watercourse. When the river changed to route the site became a hill from the river sediment that piled up into layers. When time passed, it eroded and became cliffs and soil pillars of strange shapes.
  • The passing of time can change the topography of a place and can create wonderful things. Pha Chor pillars are thirty meters high around a canopy of forest and cover a large area. “Pha Chor and Kew Sua Ten” is still unknown and unseen in Thailand.
  • Take a mini trek about two hours to see and explore beautiful nature at Pha Chor and Kew Sua Ten. Have a picnic lunch in the jungle area in the embrace of nature.
  • After visiting Pha Chor we will drive to Ob Laung National Park.

Day 4Ob Luang National Park - Mae Sariang

Head to Mae Sariang which is a charming and quiet town in Mae Hong Son province. The town is relatively unknown to the majority of tourists and is situated in a lovely valley surrounded by the rice fields, in a very productive farming community.

  • Experience local lifestyles and see the people selling their vegetables, mushrooms and insects, depending on the season.
  • Visit the very famous and unique temples of the city such as Chom Thong Temple which is situated on a high point on the edge of the town and has a stunning view of the town, river valley and beautiful surrounding countryside
  • Check in at your local homestay, a simple bamboo house with fan and private bathroom.
  • Wander around the village meeting the local community and enjoy your welcome dinner with the host

Day 5Mae Sariang - Salawin National Park - Myanmar Border

Travel along winding mountain roads passing through stunning vistas for an hour drive to Mae Sam Laep a Thai – Myanmar border village which is inhabited by Burmese and Karen people:

  • Experience Burmese culture
  • Visit Border school
  • Then take a boat trip down Salawin river which divides Myanmar and Thailand. Along the way there are some views of impressive mountains and the riverbanks which form the border between the two countries.
  • Visit Ban Tha Ta Fang Karen village, then return back by boat to Mae Samlaeb village.

Day 6Mae Sariang - Doi Inthanon National Park - Chiang Mai

We leave the homestay early in the morning for the morning market to experience the local people buying fresh food and other products. You will also have the chance to offer food to the local monks on their daily alms procession through the town. After breakfast, return to Chiang Mai and will enjoy the last beautiful scenic drive by visiting Mae Cham Hot Spring.
Travel to the Southwest of Chiang Mai, we head to Doi Inthanon National Park and hike up the highest peak of Thailand. The area is covered with lush green forest, waterfalls and the drive up the mountain rewards you with amazing views.

  • Pass through a coffee plantation, flowers farm and rice terraces
  • Trek through the jungle following a narrow mountain trail which leads us to a stunning hidden waterfall in the middle of the lush jungle: Wachirathan waterfall and Mae Klang waterfall, by far the most beautiful and spectacular waterfall in the National Park

THE CULTURAL SIEM REAP – ANGKOR WAT 3 days/2 nights

Be enchanted by the awesome Temples of Angkor and the history of Khmer Kings discovered at the magnificent UNESCO Heritage site.

Day 1 – SAIGON – FLY – SIEM REAP   Settle into a flight from Saigon to Siem Reap. Arrive and be welcomed by our guide and be transferred to your arranged accommodation. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 2 – SIEM REAP – ANGKOR THOM – TA PHROM – ANGKOR WAT   Arriving in Angkor Wat, you will rove among the ruins of the world’s most famous Hindu temple complexes, built for gods, and fit for kings: Baphuon (a temple in honour of another Hindu deity, Shiva) with its spectacular layered structure, the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers; the Royal Enclosure and its small and particularly significant temple, Phimeanakas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 3 – SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI – BANTEAY SAMRE Advance to an off-the-beaten-track site, an hour away from Angkor Wat, encountering stunning Cambodian countryside and uncovering more temples: visit Banteay Srei, called the citadel of women and come face to face with the meticulously restored enclosed temple of Banteay Samre, complete with carvings of lions and nagas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 4 – SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP – Departure Travel to Tonle Sap and find yourself surrounded by a completely aquatic landscape, see how everyday life is transformed by its proximity to and dependence on water. Free time until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight
