Begin the journey by unraveling Vietnamese culture, history, and religion in the capital of Vietnam with Hanoi’s highlights:

  • From Hanoi, travel to the Trang An – a UNESCO World Heritage site of both cultural and natural significance, where a boat trip and cycling awaits.
  • Visit Hoa Lu, the site of the country’s first capital, which covered almost three sq km.
  • Board a sampan and navigate Trang An River where limestone towers rise above rice fields.
  • Bike towards Bich Dong Pagoda where you may access the pagoda by climbing the stairs carved into rock walls.
  • If timing allows, continue biking through the countryside to the Thai Vi temple in Tam Coc.
  • Acquaint yourself with your homestay host and settle yourself into their daily routine.

  • Trek to the village of the H’mong minority, Lao Chai
  • Amble two km to Ta Van village, inhabited by the Giay ethnic tribe
  • Saunter through trails, forests, and gardens to the Black H’mong ethnic group’s village, Ma Tra

  • Appreciate Hoian’s fascinating architectural features; narrow alleys, charming homes with wooden balconies, beautiful temples, and the famous covered Japanese Bridge
  • Visit a lantern factory where you can make your own lantern
  • Wait for night to fall, and hundreds of lanterns to illuminate this historic port, a phenomenal photo opportunity beckons!

Day 11Hoi An - FLY - Saigon - Highlights

Settle into a morning flight from Hoian to Saigon.

Arrive and be welcomed by our guide at the airport and be transferred to the center for a day of exploring Saigon. Saigon (currently Ho Chi Minh city) varies from the rest of Vietnam due to its modern cosmopolitan flair. Various cultures mesh together to create a patchwork city of foreign influences:

  • The War Remnants Museum houses a history of locals’ perspectives of the American/Vietnam War
  • The Old Presidential Palace is where victory was declared after years of fighting and is preserved as it was found-including vehicles in the garages
  • The Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Saigon Post Office are both magnificent displays of French architecture from former colonial days

Day 12Saigon - Cao Dai Temple & Cu Chi Tunnels

Venture away from Saigon, through rural scenes, to encounter mysterious religious practices and unusual sites of preserved history:

  • Witness the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, and scramble through part of an unbelievably complex system of tunnels built by the Vietnamese resistance fighters

Day 13Saigon - Cai Be - Vinh Long - Can Tho

  • Catch your first sight of Cai Be, a quaint town famed for its French Catholic Church and the production of food products, especially rice
  • Wind along narrow waterways on a local sampan and observe productive rice fields, fruit orchards, and historic buildings

  • Travel by road to Can Tho, the largest town and trading center in the Mekong Delta

Day 15Chau Doc - BOAT - Phnom Penh

Day 2 – SIEM REAP – ANGKOR THOM – TA PHROM – ANGKOR WAT   Arriving in Angkor Wat, you will hide among the ruins of the world’s most famous Hindu temple complexes, built for gods, and fit for kings: Baphuon (a temple in honour of another Hindu deity, Shiva) with its spectacular layered structure, the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers; the Royal Enclosure and its small and particularly significant temple, Phimeanakas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

 

Day 3 – SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI – BANTEAY SAMRE Advance to an off-the-beaten-track site, an hour away from Angkor Wat, encounter stunning Cambodian countryside and discover more temples. Visit Banteay Srei, called the citadel of women and come face to face with the meticulously restored yet enclosed temple of Banteay Samre, complete with carvings of lions and nagas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 4 – SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP – Departure Travel to Tonle Sap and find yourself surrounded by a completely aquatic landscape. See how everyday life is transformed by its proximity to and dependence on water. Free time until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Departure to the beautiful waterfalls Khuang Sy about 30km from Luang Prabang. En route, visit min0rity villages such as H’mong village of Ban Thinkeo, Khmu village of Ban Thapaene and weaving village of Ban Xang Khong where traditional product also called Saa paper made from mulberry leaves.  Get to the waterfall, nestled in the lush tropical vegetation, a beautiful clear pool for swimming. PASSPORT AND VISA

Your passport must be valid 6 months after the expected date of your departure from the country.
For Vietnam, we will take care of the whole process for your VISA on arrival.
Cost: $25 US dollars.

  1. After receiving your scanned passport information, Hanoi Voyages will process and obtain an entry permit-Invitation Letter, which is an official document of the Vietnamese government that allows you to enter the Vietnamese soil and guarantees that the visa will be issued at the airport on arrival.
  2. The Invitation Letter will be processed within four working days, and when Hanoi Voyages receives the Invitation Letter, we will send the document directly to you by email.
  3. You have to print the Invitation Letter because it will be requested upon registration with the airline responsible for your flight to Vietnam.
  4. When you arrive at the Vietnam airport, give the Invitation Letter and two passport-size photos (4x6cm) to the Customs Official. The Customs Official will then stamp the visa into your passport, and you are ready for your Vietnam adventure.
  5. Visa-on-Arrival is only able to be obtained if you arrive in Vietnam by air and not by road.
