Day 1Bangkok - Arrival

  • A Hanoi Voyages representative will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your arranged accommodation where check-in time is 2:00 pm.

Day 2Bangkok - Highlights

Begin the journey by unraveling the glorious history of the Capital of Thailand with its highlights:

  • The Grand Royal Palace complex which includes the Royal Palace and the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew (known for the Statue of the Emerald Buddha)
  • Wat Pho, a giant house of the lying Buddha
  • A boat trip through the lively and bustling interior canals by traditional long tail boat
  • Wat Paknam, is a hidden museum with white stupa exhibition
  • Beautiful part of the Khlong with a mix of old wooden houses and new modern mansion
  • Orchid and fruit farm

Day 3Bangkok – Bang Pa In – Ayutthaya

Head to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace: built during the Ayutthaya era. Appreciate it’s beauty and fascinating architectural features that is blended by European, Khmer, Thai and Chinese style (eclectic collection)
Take a journey to Ayutthaya, Roam the remaining temples and palace of ancient Thai capital, also known as the “Venice of the East” on a tuk tuk ride:

  • Ancient Palace and Wat Phra Si Sanphet
  • Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat (with a Buddha face emerging from a tree)
  • Stroll local market

Day 4Bangkok – Ban Pakard - Battambang

Cross border to Cambodia with usual visa formalities at Pong Nam Ron in Chanthaburi district.

Complete Customs formalities, be welcomed by our guide and transferred to Battambang, a plantation town known for the warmth of its residents and the charms of its colonial French buildings.

Day 5Battambang – Tonle Sap - Siem Reap

Depart for Tonle Sap Lake, discovering fishing villages, and embarking on a traditional boat to cruise to Battambang, then reach Sangker:

  • Discover Biosphere Prek Toal, which houses a nature reserve for migratory birds. Witness the many houses on stilts and floating villages, where people still practice traditional fishing techniques. Houseboats or building houses on stilts keep these dwellings safe during the rainy season.
  • Visit Ek Phnom Wat, an 11th century, partly ruined temple.
  • Stop for local market, Prahoc which is a paste fermented from fish and used extensively in Khmer recipes.

Day 6Siem Reap - Angkor Wat - Angkor Thom

An early start as we head to the hill of Phnom Bakheng to see the sunrise. Later, arriving in Angkor Wat, you’ll rove among the ruins of the world’s most famous Hindu temple complex.

  • Visit the three-tiered Baphuon (a temple in honour of another Hindu deity, Shiva) with its spectacular layered structure.
  • See the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers.
  • Marvel at the Royal Enclosure and its small temple, Phimeanakas. These ruins are particularly significant as they date from the 10th century
  • Attend either an outstanding Apsara dance show or an old-style leather puppet show

Day 7Siem Reap - Banteay Srei - Banteay Samre - 3 Buddhist Temples

Drive an hour away from Angkor Wat, uncovering restored temples.

  • Be dazzled by Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple dating back to the 10th century. Called “the citadel of women”, its stone has a marvellous pink hue and is very well preserved.
  • Come face to face with the meticulously restored enclosed temple of Banteay Samre, complete with carvings of lions and nagas.

Later, we head to meet the Roluos Group, with its three main temples, dedicated to Shiva.

  • Visualise the first Angkorian capital city, by gazing at the remains of Bakong Temple, which was the city’s focal point for worship and rituals.
  • Prepare to be dumbfounded by incredibly intricate sandstone carvings at Temple Lolei.
  • Witness the beginnings of Khmer architecture in the 9th century temple of Preah Ko.

Day 8Siem Reap - Kampong Thom - Phnom Penh

Head to Phnom Penh (314 km),

  • Stop at Kampong Kdei bridge which was the Angkorian bridge along the ancient high way from Angkor to Wat Pho located in Laos today.
  • Visit Sambor Prei Kuk in Kampong Thom which was the capital lasted back to 7th century of the Khmer. Continue to Skun village where the villagers sell spider (tarantula) and crickets.

Arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon.

Day 9Phnom Penh

Make the most of your first full day in the country and view some of the city’s most fascinating sites.

  • Enter a world of visual wonder, starting with the National Museum of Fine Arts’ sculpture collection, before heading to the resplendent Royal Palace, admiring its striking Khmer architecture. Then, take a moment to survey the serene Silver Pagoda and its magnificent Emerald Buddha.
  • Next, meander through the Central Market, famous for its Art Deco architecture. Later, explore Wat Phnom, the oldest of temple the city, and see the statue of Madam Penh, the capital’s name sake.

Day 10Phnom Penh - Chau Doc

Welcome the day and the opportunity to adventure the capital of Cambodia for another day:

  • Visit the Museum of Genocidal Crime which was first a high school, then a prison under the Khmer Rouge reign, and now a museum to commemorate the thousands of people lost during the regime
  • Visit the Choeng Ek Killing Field where thousands of Cambodian people were murdered by the brutal Khmer Rouge

After the morning tour, leave for Vietnam by boat where border customs requirements will be required while on board and cruise for approximately 4 hrs.
Arrive and be welcomed by our guide and be transferred to your arranged accommodation.

Day 11Chau Doc - Can Tho

Upon awakening in the mountain morning fresh air, begin to explore the surrounding regions.

Sam Mountain is a famous place of pilgrimage for the Vietnamese and is home to many temples under the influence of Chinese, Cham, and Khmer cultures.

Embark on a jungle journey through the Tra Su Cajuput Forest via a sampan cruising among vibrantly green water.

Journey to Can Tho to wander around the buzzing city.

Day 12Can Tho – Mekong – CRUISE and NIGHT on board

Departing from your hotel in the morning, we go to Nink Kieu pier and board the Bassac at noon.

After boarding, you will meet the crew, have a presentation of the boat and be assigned your cabin. A “welcome aboard” drink will then be offered.

Cruise downstream and observe the life and surrounds on the banks.

Lunch is served on board during the cruise, and then you can rest on the upper deck, or around the bar.

You will enjoy the scenery of rice fields, sugar cane and forests and meet the inhabitants of a village on the banks of the Mang Thit River, an opportunity to see the lifestyle and receive their generous hospitality.

Visit the lush productive rice fields or nearby orchards.

Back on board and sailing towards the Mang Thit River, enjoy the setting sun and a refreshing drink that will be offered before dinner.

The Bassac then sets anchor for the night in the small floating market, downstream from Tra On.

Day 13Mekong – CRUISE – Saigon

Breakfast is served from 6.30 am while the Bassac navigates its way to Vinh Long.

On arrival in Vinh Long, you leave your cabin and transfer to a lighter boat to visit the market on the surrounding radiating canals. You discover the lifestyle of the people who live and work on the water.

Vinh Long is known as the “horn of plenty” in this productive region. You will witness the crowd of boats, weighed down by their impressive loads of fruit, vegetables, fish and rice.

Navigation of the smaller waterways will lead you to a colonial house and orchard planted with durian, oranges and mangosteen, where you can taste these exotic fruits.

At Binh Phuoc Hoa, you visit a gorgeous colonial house and its well-maintained garden and orchards.

This part of the tour will allow you to enjoy the peaceful setting in which some people live in the delta.

Day 2 – SIEM REAP – ANGKOR THOM – TA PHROM – ANGKOR WAT   Arriving in Angkor Wat, you will rove among the ruins of the world’s most famous Hindu temple complexes, built for gods, and fit for kings: Baphuon (a temple in honour of another Hindu deity, Shiva) with its spectacular layered structure, the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers; the Royal Enclosure and its small and particularly significant temple, Phimeanakas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 3 – SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI – BANTEAY SAMRE Advance to an off-the-beaten-track site, an hour away from Angkor Wat, encountering stunning Cambodian countryside and uncovering more temples: visit Banteay Srei, called the citadel of women and come face to face with the meticulously restored enclosed temple of Banteay Samre, complete with carvings of lions and nagas. Overnight in a hotel with breakfast.

Day 4 – SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP – Departure Travel to Tonle Sap and find yourself surrounded by a completely aquatic landscape, see how everyday life is transformed by its proximity to and dependence on water. Free time until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight

PASSPORT AND VISA

Your passport must be valid 6 months after the expected date of your departure from the country.

    Visa exemption up to 30 days for the following countries: Brunei (14 days), Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines (21 days), Seychelles (14 days), Singapore, Thailand (14 days)

    Visa for Thailand:
    Thailand has visa-on-arrival and visa-exemption agreements with many countries, including European countries, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA.

      Visa for Cambodia:
      Just bring with you a valid passport, 2 passport-sized photos and 35 USD per visa.

    • You will get a single entry tourist visa which allows a stay up to 30 days
    • A 6-month valid passport after the expected date of your departure from the country is required
      • Visa for Vietnam:
        We will take care of the whole process for your VISA on arrival.
        Cost: $25 US dollars.

      • After receiving your scanned passport information, Hanoi Voyages will process and obtain an entry permit-Invitation Letter, which is an official document of the Vietnamese government that allows you to enter the Vietnamese soil and guarantees that the visa will be issued at the airport on arrival.
      • Once Hanoi Voyages receives the Invitation Letter, we will send the document directly to you by email.
